The Top-Down “Street” Style

The revised Spin illustration style was working well, however, when marketing leads (Bella Ly and Jamie Goddard) approached me about a project intended to communicate the present-day and future of a world with better transportation options, I realized I needed to expand the Spin illustration style even further.

The result was a top-down world that showed both the top and the front of the objects, resulting in a quasi-bird’s-eye view. This slightly more 3-D approach allowed more flexibility for communicating concepts that involved streets and sidewalks.

Just like with the cityscapes, I generated an entire library of assets (show asset library in image above?) for this style as well that came in handy every time this approach was ideal.

(above) illustration to communicate how the Transit phone app can connect to different forms of transportation, including Spin scooters. Transit info would also appear on the big screen of the scooter parking and charging stations, called Spin Hubs (lower left corner). This was specific to Pittsburgh, and some of the landmarks are local.
