Historic Leader Office Portraits

Each of the NationBuilder HQ offices were named after leaders. Some after political leaders, some after leaders in their particular industry. Victoria Woodhull (the first woman to run for President) and Abbie Hoffman (political and social activist) were two of the former, and these pieces were printed and framed as artwork for each office. Each portrait was intended to be in a different style. Victoria’s was an attempt at mimicking the iconic Shepard Fairey Obama poster style. Abbie’s was mean to be a more symbolic combination of the American flag and jail cell bars.

Historic Animal Leaders

A self-driven side project, I created these historically political pups to test out drawing with a stylus an iPad.

Chihuahuashington - George Washington as a chihuahua.

Napapillon Bonaparte - Napoleon Bonaparte as a papillon.

Only Zuul

This illustration came about as a bit of a joke.

NationBuilder HQ is located in the same hotel that was used to film the movie Ghostbusters, so many of the offices were named after the actors. But, rather than work in a room called “Aykroyd” or “Murray”, I suggested instead we name the Design office “Zuul.” And then I drew the design team’s portraits as if we were possessed. Shout out to the logo modification as well.
